Starting today, weâll be rolling out the ability to use your PayPal account to send or request money, right from Messenger. Whether itâs splitting a bill for a cab ride, paying your share of the rent, or making sure you get paid back for momâs birthday present, paying in Messenger with PayPal makes paying or requesting money super easy.
Hereâs how it works: in a group or one-on-one conversation, tap the blue plus (+) icon and then tap the green Payments ($) icon. From there, you can enter the amount you want to pay or request, include a quick note on what the payment is for, and then press âPayâ. Youâll be prompted to connect your PayPal account or debit card. If youâve used payments on Messenger previously, you can simply tap the âChangeâ text below the pay or request amount and choose PayPal as the payment method to proceed. At this time, sending money in Messenger with PayPal is available in the United States and will be rolling out over the next several weeks.
PayPal also has a customer service bot, so you can easily receive payment and PayPal account support, directly in Messenger. To get started, search for PayPal or message: m.me/PayPal.
